Fukuro-toji means "folded pocket book." In Japan and other Asian countries the pages are arranged with the folds of the pages on the outside and the spine sewn around the loose edges. This creates a set of pages that can be opened to show a pocket.
This handmade journal is light weight and features Japanese decorative paper on the covers. The inner pages are also Japanese papers and feature embedded crushed cicada wings, giving the pages a unique sparkle.
